Filed under: 5 Fun Facts — by Mark on March 13, 2015

Brandon Marshall made headlines in early 2015 when the Jets worked a trade with the Bears to acquire the high jumping receiver.

Here is a look at five fun facts about this exciting wide receiver.

Nice Jump!

At Lake Howell High School in Florida, Brandon Marshall won the Class 3A State Triple Jump Championship with a jump of 14.81 meters.

Both Ways?!?!

During the 2004 season at the University of Central Florida, due to an injury riddled secondary, wide receiver Brandon Marshall started seven games at safety. He intercepted one pass that year and led the team in tackles with 51.

Nice Timing!

The most TD passes Brandon Marshall ever caught in a college football game was three. This happened on December 24, 2005 in a Central Florida loss to Nevada in the Hawaii Bowl. This was Marshall’s last game in college football. The three TD passes were for 51 yards, 29 yards, and 16 yards and were all thrown to him by quarterback Steven Moffett.

The First Of Many

The first pass Brandon Marshall would catch in the NFL was good for 13 yards, saw him tackled by Gary Baxter of the Browns, and was thrown to him by Jake Plummer while with the Broncos.

Who Threw ‘Em All?

Prior to being acquired by the Jets in 2015, Brandon Marshall had caught a total of 65 touchdown passes in the NFL. Seven quarterbacks had thrown TD passes to him up to that time, including Jay Cutler, Kyle Orton, Matt Moore, Chad Henne, Josh McCown, Jason Campbell, and Jake Plummer.
