Without a doubt, Stephen Curry is one of the best players in the entire NBA. The Golden State Warriors are lucky enough to call him one of their own too. When he’s on the court, all eyes are on him… and understandably so!

Here are five fun facts about Stephen Curry:

What? Not His First Name?

Stephen Curry’s actual given first name he was given at birth was not “Stephen”. That’s his middle name. His actual first name is “Wardell”.

Record Breaker!

As a sophomore at Davidson College in North Carolina, Stephen Curry set a new NCAA record for most three point shots made in a season. A few years into his pro career, he would set the NBA record for most three point shots made in a season.

First Time League Leader

The first thing Stephen Curry would lead the NBA in was as a second year player during the 2010/11 season when he led all NBA players in free throw percentage, putting a .934 percentage up.

His First NBA Game

In his first NBA game ever, a loss to the Houston Rockets on October 28, 2009, Stephen Curry would score 14 points, grab two rebounds, dish out four assists, and get seven steals.

Over 40

On November 7, 2016, Stephen Curry broke the 40 point mark in a game for the very first time in his career. That game, a win over the New Orleans Pelicans, saw him make 13 of 17 shots from behind the 3-point line, finish with 46 points, and also five rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
