Jimmy Graham was in the news big time in early 2015 when the Seattle Seahawks traded Max Unger and a first round draft pick to the Saints for him and a fourth round pick. One of a kind talents like him don’t change teams via trade in the NFL too often.

Here is a look at five fun facts about this truly great tight end.

Not Just Muscle

Jimmy Graham graduated in 2009 from the University of Miami with a double major in marketing and management. Surprisingly, he had not played football up to that time, instead attending college on a basketball scholarship. He then played one season of football while taking graduate classes.

Meager College Totals

In his one and only season of college football at the University of Miami in 2009, Jimmy Graham finished the season with 17 catches for 213 yards and five touchdowns.

That’ll Be 10 Yards, Rookie

The first penalty ever called on Jimmy Graham in the NFL was for offensive pass interference in an October 17th, 2010 Saints victory over the Buccaneers.

Home Ain’t Where The Heart Is

The first four TD passes Jimmy Graham would catch in the NFL all came in road games. They were all thrown to him by Drew Brees and came in games against the Panthers, Ravens, and Falcons in 2010.

Two Long Ones

Jimmy Graham caught two TD passes of 50 or more yards during his time with the Saints. The first was for 56 yards and came in a Saints win over the Buccaneers in 2013. The second came from 51 yards out in a loss to the Jets, also in 2013.
