Jake Locker, like a lot of NFL players, made the news in early 2015. While other names were getting noticed for changing teams via trade or free angency though, Locker was recognized because he was announcing his retirement at the age of 28.

Here is a look at five fun facts about quarterback Jake Locker.

Not Bad, Youngster

Jake Locker led Ferndale High School of Ferndale, Washington to a state title as a senior in 2005. He threw for 1,603 yards and 25 yards with only three interceptions. He also ran for 1,339 yards and 24 touchdowns that year while helping his team to a perfect 14-0 record.

Nice Fastball!

In the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft, quarterback Jake Locker was selected by the the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

300 Yard Games – Part I

In four seasons at the University of Washington, Jake Locker had three 300 yard games. He had one as a freshman against Arizona, one as a junior against LSU, and one as a senior against USC.

300 Yard Games – Part II

Jake Locker had three 300 yard passing games in the NFL. The most yards he threw for was 378 in a 2012 win over the Lions. His other two 300+ yard games were against the 49ers and Texans.

His TD Passes

Jake Locker threw 27 touchdown passes during his NFL career. he threw them to seven different players with Nate Washington catching eight, Delanie Walker and Kendall Wright catching five each, Kenny Britt and Jared Cook catching three apiece, Justin Hunter catching two, and Chris Johnson catching one.
