Matt Ryan is one of those very special quarterbacks that only comes along once or twice in a generation for a team. He can throw the short passes that require touch just as easily as the long pass to the streaking receiver heading towards the end zone. It is very east to see why he has so many fans in the NFL. Here are five fun facts about Matt Ryan.

When They Say Jump, He Says How High?

At the 2008 NFL Scouting Combine held before the NFL Draft, Matt Ryan was measured as having a 24 inch vertical leap. He was also timed with a 4.86 second 40 yard dash.

First 300 Yard Game

Matt Ryan had his first 300 yard game in the NFL in a win over the Bears in 2008 in the sixth game of his pro career. He completed 22 of 30 passes that day for 301 yards and a touchdown.

First Interception

Matt Ryan threw his first career interception on the third pass attempt of his career. It happened in the first quarter of a Falcons loss to the Buccaneers in 2008. It was intended for Harry Douglas but was picked off by Aqib Talib.

Long Touchdowns

The first five different players to catch 50+ yard TD passes thrown by Matt Ryan in the NFL were: Michael Jenkins, Roddy White, Jerious Norwood, Julio Jones, and Michael Turner.

First TD In The Playoffs

The first touchdown pass Matt Ryan ever threw in the postseason in the NFL was a two yarder to Justin Peelle in a loss to the Cardinals on January 3, 2009.
